STAR Network
(Sanctuary Transport & Animal Refuge)
The STAR (Sanctuary Transport & Animal Refuge) Network, inspired by the symbolism of following the North Star to safety, will help to establish a more formal national infrastructure and network for transporting animals away from harm toward lives of greater freedom, care, and protection.
Within the farmed animal sanctuary movement, there are limited resources and capacity for helping animals who are in need of refuge from our food system to make it safely to the sanctuaries that can provide them with shelter.
With countless calls to help rescue animals, there is an endless amount of support needed. And while there are thousands of sanctuaries, often those sanctuaries feel isolated in their work. The STAR Network will help to foster a grassroots coalition of community, solidarity, and support to collaborate on the care and liberation of fellow animals.
There are many ways to become involved with the STAR Network: from offering transportation, layover space, or donations, to engaging in grassroots coalition building to strengthen and expand the network. Together, we can help liberated animals arrive safely to sanctuary.
